This very brief early Meccan Sura sums up in the single mystic word Kauthar (Abundance) the doctrine of spiritual Riches through devotion and sacrifice. The converse also follows: Indulgence in hatred means the cutting off of all hope of this life and the Hereafter.
C.288-(Verses 1 to 3)-To the man of Allah, rich in divine blessings, is granted a Fountain unfailing, that will quench the spiritual thirst of millions. Turn, then, in devotion and sacrifice to Allah, nor heed the venom of Hatred, which destroys its own hopes, alas, of of the present and the future!
108:1 SURA 108. Kauthar, or Abundance. In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. To thee have We granted the Fount (of Abundance).
108:2 Therefore to thy Lord turn in Prayer and Sacrifice.
108:3 For he who hateth thee, -- he will be cut off (from Future Hope).
